lost Lanes

hi,
              im looking for my Lane family who served in the 1st world war, i know some records were lost/burnt but  i cant find records for any of them.   here goes, (all born wellington somerset)
   Bearnard fred Lane born 8/5/1880 died 26/5/1818 in amesbury was in devonshire reg  then labour corps
    Fredrick perryman Lane born 19/7/1887
     Thomas william Lane born 14/11/1892 royal engineers
       George Woolway Lane born 20/10/1895 i have a picture of him in uniform on a horse
         Henry John Lane born 18/4/1897
          Frank Snook Lane born 16/6/1899
 will try an attach photos, any help would be great

Hello Matilda,

George, I think, is Private 1571, West Somerset Yeomanry / 295343 Somerset Light Infantry.

He probably joined in Spring 1915.
Possibly sent out to 1/1 WSY, as the 6 digit number is for 12th (West Somerset Yeomanry) Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry, that was formed in January 1917.

I don't think that Bernard served overseas.

Going by his LC number, I would guess that he probably joined 13th (Works) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment. In April / May 1917, this became 3rd Labour Battalion, Labour Corps.
