Kilquade Graveyard - Breslin **COMPLETED thank you**
« on: Sunday 21 November 10 16:25 GMT (UK) »
During the summer, we were at Kilquade Church for a wedding. We were early and investigated the graveyard (as one does!).

We found a Breslin grave, not ours, but we scribbled down the names and dates. We had a camera, but for some obscure reason didn't take a photo!
And discovered a few days later that it was one of ours! And one of the dates we obviously wrote down wrong.

If anyone local visits this church, could they look for Breslin, to the left and near the back as you face the church. I'd like to know what James' date of death is, please.

I'll visit again myself when the days get longer again and the weather improves. It's a beautiful and very interesting church, with some historic wall plaques, including one to Willie Redmond M.P. as I remember.

Hi
I have actually taken photos of most of the headstones at St.Patrick's Church Kilquade, and transcribed the inscriptions, all of which are on IGP Archives at -
http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/
If you click on Wicklow, then Headstones, and then the files for Kilquade St.Patrick's Church you will find the transcript in the text file, and the photo in the other file, both at No.30.
You may then save a copy of the photo to your Computer.
If anyone else is looking for photos/inscriptions at this church please let me know.  I have still a little work to do there.
Joy

Thank you so much, Joy, for such a quick response.
I've downloaded the photo, and we did indeed have the wrong date for James Breslin. The photo is excellent.

I've seen that site before. You all deserve a medal for the hard work.

hello
I see you are interested in the Myler/Meyler family from Wicklow. It just so happens that Andrew Myler is my great, great grandfather.  His mother was Mary Marks and his father John Myler. I heard in my family that Mary Marks and John Myler may have had 22 children. Are these people your ancestors?
Dublin : King, Burgess, Toole, Martin, Keogh
Wicklow : Toole, Burgess, , Mc Loughlin, Doyle,  Warren,
Armagh: Reynolds Vallely
Monoghan: Burgess
Keogh. Delgany : Doyle White and possibly McLoughlin
Carlow: Dillon, Delaney
Unknown county: Sweeney and Moran. Sweeneys went to Lpool 1840s and Michael Moran 1820s

Hi dillonking

I haven't come across a John or Andrew Myler in the family. Where were they from and when were Mary and John Myler married?
I see an Andrew Meiler/Meyler married to Mary Anne Stringer?

Peter Meyler from Arklow is my great-great-grandfather married in 1830s.

Hi there eadaoin,
I've just found out that I researched the wrong branch of Tooles and therefore the Mylers are not my relations! Andrew Myler was born in 1832 and he married Jane Mc Donnell born 1839. The couple were still alive in 1901 and you will find them on the census. Andrew Myler's father was John Myler and his mother Mary Marks. There is an 87 year old Mary Myler alive in 1901 so she might just be Andrew's mother. The couple had a daughter Maria Myler born 1868 who married William Toole in around 1891. I imagine Andrew had quite a few brothers and sisters. Maybe his father John and your ancestor Peter were brothers? I don't know how to send you a private message. I bought a lot of stuff from the IFIH site and so I'd like to think the money was not wasted if I could send you the material I found.
The Mary Myler still alive in 1901 came from Arklow.
Andrew was baptized in Kilquade I think. From the top of my head now!
