Robert Foot 1/5/1902 woodman, married Mabel Smith 1923 and hanged himself at his home in Dogberry Hill, Minterne around 1954 and burried I believe at UpCerne. Any info about him, newspapers etc or about Mabel would be most helpful. Thanks Mark

Hi,

Dorset History Centre in Dorchester has microfilms of local newspapers but you would need a date of death to search for any announcements.

many thanks, I am sure this is him and I'll have to see if thee are any newspaper cuttings from the inquest. He was a woodman and apparently a lovely man. But after his wife left him, he killed himself in the cottahe where they lived.  Many thanks again for replying.  Mark
