William Bisset & Jessie Thompson

Trying to find info on my great grandparents - Jessie Thompson married to William Bisset. They moved to South Africa and had 5 children - William & John died in the WW1, twins David & Helen, and Jessie Bisset, my grandmother. William died before 1924, not sure where or when. Im trying to track down all their scottish history. They must have been born around 1860 - 1870? Not sure where they hailed from, possibly Portobello? That rings a bell.

Scotlands People has a marriage of William Bisset to Jessie Thompson in 1895. That's as far as I can get without spending credits.

There was a  W Bisset, aged 31 and a miner, with Mrs Bisset aged 29 on the Lismore Castle which left Southampton for Cape Town on 9 November 1895.

Thats awesome! I cant find a website that gives me that much info for free - if I just ask for a simple date of something it asks for my credit card number. Thanks for your help - this has to be the right couple. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to get more info - can you give me a good website that I can subscribe to that wont cripple me financially?

Their marriage was in Glasgow if you view the image it will give their parents names which would allow you to go back further generations and find them on census records
