How Do I Get The Will? - COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 25 November 10 19:03 GMT (UK) »
That well known Genealogy site beginning with A has provided the following information about the will of Thomas Gyles:-

19 June 1608 - 24 February 1611 Register 3, District Probate Court, Lewes.

Great, but how do I obtain a copy of the will? The answer is probably obvious, but not to me  :(

Thanks in advance,

Bob.

East Sussex Record Office in Lewes is the place.  This is a link to the page on their site to explain about how to order the documents.  You would need the exact reference.

However, some of the records at that date are kept at West Sussex.  It may be worth telephoning to enquire if they hold it and can provide a copy.

Hi Nell,

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll have to ring Lewes, as I don;t have the exact ref, only the info I quoted.
