i have william watson born 1814 in hockley, essex died 1880 he married hannah according to the IGI she was born 1801.

there first child henry was born july-9-1838 in hockley.

i am looking for hanna's maiden name and date of marraige, any help would be appreceiated

Have you already discounted the 1837 marriage on freebmd?  There are a lot of possible spouses but one is Hannah Warp  www.freebmd.org.uk

Do you have a copy of any of their childrens birth certs as that will give her maiden name

they had children older than Henry in 1841

William Watson 25 ag lab
Hannah 30
Ann 10
William 7
Mary 4
Henery 2
all b in county

or were some of the older children hannah's from a previous marriage??

Ann and Mary can both be found working as servants at different farms in 1851 if you require those census??

the baptism of Henry (not birth) 9 Jul 1838 is a submitted record -not extracted- and as such has to be treated with some caution

In 1851 Hannah was 47 so the older children on the 1841 census are likely to be from a previous marriage as Suz says

1841 Hannah is age 30_ so with rounding down she could be age 30-34 ??? 1851 she was 47 and William was 37.
children Ann, William and Mary appear after 1841 using the surname Watson -so they may all be the children of William and Hannah

Sorry - I meant in 1851 she was 47 - I've amended my reply above.

Hannah is 60 in 1861 and William is shown as 50
