Phyllis Walters (married name) lookup please.
« on: Saturday 27 November 10 10:02 GMT (UK) »
Phyllis Walters (married name I hope) died November 1992 in Bleaneau, Gwent. Birth 18th July 1915. Volume 28 Page 148.

Looking if she is my stepmother that married my father Thomas John Walters in Tredegar between 1967-1972. Cannot find the wedding under my fathers full name, and cannot remember my stepmothers maiden name, even when I went to the church (Methodist maybe) in Tredegar.

I should research her life. Any help please?

Sorry, wrong one.

I went to work in B'ham when I was 17 around 1966 (I was born 1st May 1949. My parents where together then. I was away from home till I was aged 21 (1972). While I was away my parents divorced and my mother remarried in 1970, but my father remarried before her. It was from B'ham that I came down to the wedding, and later spending a Christmas with them all before 1972.

I believe she was born in Tredegar, and my father moved into her home. Th e house of her first wedding. I am sure it was a wedding in the church that I went too, and not just a church blessing. I cannot believe my father moved in with her. Please he spoke about getting the divorce from my mother to remarry.

I have found the marriage:
Walter, Thomas John and Poole, Phyllis
Registration district: Bedwelty, Monmouth.
Quarter: Oct-Nov-Dec 1969
Volume: 8c
Page: 179
I have sent for the certificate today, thank you all for your help. Notice they missed the S of Walters.  :o

I also now have Phyllis maiden name: Phyllis Thomas, born 1915 died 1992 in Tredegar. Have not yet found her place of birth yet for sure. I did find one Phylllis Thomas in 1915 born in Bedwelty (maybe Tredegar), mother's maiden name Morgan. Any one else find something of her birth and parents please?

Found also the first marriage to Frances J Poole in Tredegar (Bedwelty) Sept quarter 1941 Bedwelty vol 11a page 367.

He died June quarter 1963 Bedwelty 8c page 77. Age 51, birth in 1912 maybe. Found one Nov quarter 1911 for a Frances J Poole. Need to find his parents also. Any offers please?

Thank you all for your help. 8) :)

birth reg at that time should show mother's maiden name in the index, so you have 2 names to work from, when looking for their marriage. Although, theirs doesn't seem to be an unusual combination of surnames, so you'll need certificates.

By the way, Mr Poole appears as Francis in the index, not Frances. With an 'e' is normally the female spelling.
