Fred Harris
« on: Monday 29 November 10 16:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, I am new, so please bear with me if I do things wrong.
I am looking for the decendents of FRED HARRIS. He had a son called CLEMENT. Clement had a daughter called LILLY and Lilly married the UK boxer Leonard Horace Smith (Len Tiger Smith) in August 1934 in Birmingham.
Len and Lilly had a daughter - my mother - called Mary Elizabeth - born on the 12th April 1935 and was brought to South Africa around 1937 where they then lived, my mother met my dad, got married and had six children.
PLEASE, ANY PERSON RELATED TO FRED HARRIS, HIS SIBLINGS, CHILDREN ect, would like to know about you. :'(

Are you a member of GenesReunited? Someone called Peter has the Clement born Sowerby that CaroleW found in their tree.
Clement's mother's maiden name was Emily Buckley and her mother was Helen.
Did you know that Clement was a blacksmith at one stage?

Hi, this is the family..... THANK YOU SO MUCH! I live in South Africa and am clueless as to how to search for the Harris and Bottomley (as well as Buckly) families that belong to me.  Should you come accross ANY information whatsoever, would you please forward it to me??? Found that every time I come accross information that may be of value - it takes me to a window that is blocked and I get no further..........
My mother have never met any of them as she was about 2 years old when she came to South Africa and her mother (Lilian) apparently died when she was 23.
I dearly want to trace Mom's family as she is now 76 years old and do not have a lifetime to search.
Tears are flowing as I am so happy - this is the family as Helen Buckley was Mom grandmother!
I PRAY THAT I WILL BE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO RECEIVE FURTHER INFORMATION, THANKS AGAIN!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Some slight changes in birthplace for the 1891 census,  I think Emily should be 19 rather than 17 given they had been married almost 3yrs by 1891 but image shows 17

Fred Harris 24 b Skircoat Yorks - blanket finisher
Emily 17 b Sowerby Bridge
Milton  2 b Warley
