I'm trying to find a death certificate for my great grandfather Daniel McGrath. I applied for one through the HSE website but they have got back to me today saying that have no matches. Can anyone offer any advice? I have to ring her back later. There's a charge of 12quid whether they find the certificate or not so I'd like to try my best to find it.
As far as I'm aware
Daniel McGrath was born c.1861 in or near Clonmel, Tipperary.
He was a railway stoker but was sacked after taking part in the 1913 transport workers' strike.
He moved to Cork and secured employment as a boiler stoker in the North Infirmary Hospital in Cork City.
Married Hannah Hayes (c. 1862 - c.1892). She died during the birth of their one and only son John McGrath.
Daniel McGrath then married Hannah O'Brien (c. 1865- c.1960). They had 5 children including my grandfather Cornelius K McGrath (1921 -2001). They family were based in Spring Lane, Blackpool, Cork.
Daniel McGrath, as far as I know died in Cork City, in c. 1930.

The only vaguely decent matches I've found on the Family Search site have been:
Dan McGrath (1859 - 1932). Died in Glenties, Donegal though.
Daniel Joseph McGrath (1862 - 1928). Died in Carlow though.
