1871 lookup
« on: Sunday 05 December 10 18:23 GMT (UK) »
Looking for 1871 census details for Isaac and Elizabeth Taylor in Willenhall, Staffs

Isaac was a coal miner born in either Willenhall (1851 census) or Ratford, Notts (1861 census) and Elizabeth was born in Ettingshall, Bilston, Staffs.  They would both be around age 60 in 1871.
They have children Isaac, Sarah, Thomas and William.

1861 census is the last record I have of them.

Hoping someone can help.   :)

Isaac's p.o.b. on 1851 census is given as Wollaton Nottinghamshire
1861 p.o.b. should read Radford Nottingham

Wollaton?  I thought it looked like Willenhall.  Where is Wollaton and where is Radford?

they are in Nottinghamshire

strangely in 1841 census Alfred and Jane Taylor are with Isaac and Jane

1851 Alfred and jane (and children) are living in Willenhall -Alfred's p.o.b. Basford Nottinghamshire (transcribed as Belfast!!!)
1861 Alfred's p.o.b. Nottinghamshire -and they are living at bentley Staffs

I wondered if Alfred was Isaac's brother - but I can't find Alfred and Jane after 1861????

Wonder if they are all hiding together??

By the way Isaac and Elizabeth had more than 4 children -do you have alll of them??

I will see if I can find them with family

No, I didn't know there were more children.

I did see an Alfred and Jane living with them in 1841 but I had no idea who they were, as yet.

This is the first part of any of the family who came from outside the area so it's all new to me!

I don't have any of the family in 1871 apart from Sarah, then married to Frederick Washbrook, as she is my direct ancestor.  I would expect them all to live in Lane Head or Short Heath area of Willenhall as that's where they have all lived for at least 2 generations.
