DEEKER Family
« on: Wednesday 08 December 10 05:53 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for ancestors of Robert James Deeker who got off the Black Heath at Williamstown in November 1853. I have a few papers, but the familt seems to move a bit and not own property. I would like to know how to find out property ownership

Welcome to Rchat paperplus,

I'm not that familiar with Victorian records, but I'll try to help.

There's the Resources board with lots of links here at RChat, and here's the link to that Resources board ... http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,369963.0.html

Perhaps try these (they are among the many links on that main link)

Do you think your Robert James Deeker stayed in Victoria or could he and his family have moved to any of the other Australasian colonies ?

Cheers,  JM

Hi there,

There's a Robert J Deeker listed in historic directory in 1875, 1880, 1884, 1888, and 1893 on Weston St - S (south) Side at Brunswick.  The 1893 entry shows this as 128 Weston St ...

Victorian Government Gazette Friday June 19th 1857 p 1081.

A petition from the residents of the Brunswick District to form the Brunswick Municipality.

Included in the list of petitioners is a James Deeker.

Hello
Ooops...the Fawkner burials do not include that 1890 death, but they are the surname (if that is indeed the spelling) and looks to include contemporaries.
