I am reseaching My Newell family tree, came across a Robert Newell buried in Newcastle upon tyne.

Mothers Maiden Names NETTLE
No marriage record in N/C for Newell/Nettle ??

His birth was registered in Newcastle, so you may be better on the Northumberland board rather than Cheshire.

26th October 1917,
Northumberland Fusiliers,Corporal,1/4 battalion,
Regimental number 204624,killed in action France,

possibly father of your Robert, no promise ,he just needs researching,

There are quite a few births deaths and marriages for the Newells in Newcastle,looking at the census for 1901 they came from all over so I don't think the marriage for Roberts parents is here in Newcastle,

I think this lady Bessie Mitchell Newall Born 10th July 1901, Is maybe, My 1st Cousin X2 Removed.
My Newell/Newall Connection is in Elswick/ Benwell Area of Newcastle, But come from North of Ireland
