O'Donoghue family from Abbeyside
« on: Saturday 18 December 10 10:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I have just started researching my Irish ancestors and I am looking for some information on the O'Donoghue family from Abbeyside, Dungarvan.
My Great Grandfather was Captain John O'Donoghue. he was married to Katherine Phelan/Whelan.
They had several children. I know of Bridget and Thomas. One of their other children was Anastacia who was my Grandmother.
Does anyone have any more information about this family or tell me where I can look?
Thanks
O'Donoghue from Abbeyside, Dungarvan

Welcome to Rootschat

It all depends on the dates you are looking for...

Details of the 1901 and 1911 census returns are online, also online is the Civil BMD Index which you can use to search for references to order BMD certs for events after the start of full civil registration in 1864 (in addition non-Catholic marriages were registered from 1845). For earlier records you would need to check for available parish records.

Thank you Shane
This is just the weather for sitting in the warm and on the laptop.
At the moment I am back to the early 1900s to find my Irish roots in Dungarvan
I am very grateful
