Throth, you'd posted on the other board about the surname McLauchlin someone was looking for. I found these on FamilySearch in the IGI. Maybe they'll help? I came back to the boards and noticed this post, figured it was the best place for this.

As you probably know, there,s usually more information, but the fields that were empty I've left out to save space.

These are more likely banns, not a marriage, but they're both here:

John Mclachlan & Katharine Menzies 17 Jan 1795 Moulin,Perth


These two are the only ones I found that matched the date criteria as far as age to be married in 1795, so I copied them, but they may not be the right people:

Still searching for my John McLauchlan b: 1801 parents.
I thought the 1851 census had he was born in Dunkeld but am obviously mistaken.....botheration.

The John McLauchlane in Kilspindie in 1851 with daughter May was born in Dunkeld according to the 1851 census.
I think you should forget about the McLauchlans of Moulin.
As I previously stated there are no births on SP for someone in Dunkeld with that name in this timeframe so not uncommonly his birth was not registered.

Have you any ideas of where I should go to to find out who John (1801) parents & siblings were.  I shall do as you suggest and forget about Moulin.
