Thanks for checking Norrie. I was hoping to find the missing dates on my list but it wasn't to be.

Hi Norrie,

What a great resource you have set up!

Do you have any graves of Cummings

Am particularly interested in the whereabouts of Colin Cummings, 1851-1903. He died at Bank Mansion, Sinclairtown, Dysart.

Wives--  1)  Joan (Burns) c. 1850-1877
              2)  Janet Ness Henderson c. 1858-1904

Hi Norrie,

Thank you so much for all that information!

I think 101 was the manager of Dysart gas works if I remember my research--at present deep inside a cupboard.

These Cummings may be distant relatives of Colin Cummings------- have not yet established the link.

Colin was the eldest of a Cummings family that 'went'
Colin (seaman),  b.c.1793-d.1829--buried in old cemetery, St. Serf's I think it was (MI index)
Alexander (seaman),   1825-1899
Colin (boiler -maker then wine and spirit merchant),  1851-1903
Alexander (wine merchant). 1873-195?

It is odd Colin is not buried locally.  1903 was well before cremation started.

I doubt they were listed as Cumming. The earliest surnames I found of this family were Cummins and Cummens then they were Cummings.

Will ask for a photo. if I can find the link.
Meantime thank you again for your work.

Kind regards,
MairiD

Hi Gill.    No Peter L McLaren in my index, but you say he was buried in a family plot. I index with the main family on the stone, so that would be Peters
parents.
I have these Mclarnes in Dysart & 1 in Bennochy
but have checked the photographs but no mention of Peter on any of them.

Dys   223   James   McLaren   Ada Brawley
Dys   1100   James   McLaren   Euphemia Arnott Kidd
Dys   499   James B McLaren   Annie Maxwell Kerr
Dys   246   John   McLaren   Mary   Kellock
Dys   856   Robert   McLaren   Annie   McCallum
Dys   704   William McLaren   Isabella Burt

Ben   452   Peter McLarne   Catherine   Brown

Who were Peters parents also Isabella parents

Hi, Peters parents were Peter and Christina Mclaren however they both died in Forfar and i would assume burried there or perhaps |Logierait ( where they came from). Isabella parents were Christopher Cairns and jemina ( cant recall her surname, would have to look it up). I though Peter had bought the plot and he, his wife and im told grandson were burried there. Hope that makes a difference as I have looked and unfortunately found nothing- relatives not much help! Thanks again. Gillian.

Hi Norrie

If you've got the time, I'm looking for gravestones for the following people. I've been through all the usual lists and found nothing and the facts would suggest they were too poor to afford a stone.  But you might have turned up something I haven't!

They are all born and married in Dysart.

George Kinnaird and Agnes Raeburn (born 1760s)
John Kinnaird and Elizabeth McGregor (born 1790s)
William Page and Elizabeth Mitchell (born c1805)
James McDougall and Ann Rennie (born c1805)
George Kinnaird and Jane Weir (born 1830s)
Duncan McDougall and Euphemia Page (born 1830s)
William Kinnaird and Joan McDougall (born 1860s)
James Brown and Euphemia Kinnaird (born 1890s)

Thanks for all your efforts.

Sarah
