Can anyone translate LATIN please

A few ideas while we await a full translation and interpretation!

The paper was delivered at 11 (hora XI = the eleventh hour).

The paper itself is a lot of differential calculus looking at ranges from x (the unknown starting point) to infinity. Even without adequate Latin it brings back bad memories of advanced maths at school. I think the VITA (at the end of the inaugural address) may be very dull. He was born on 12 March 1810 and seems to have attended several institutions, before starting university in 1832. The second half seems to be a list of references to people involved in the paper.

But my Latin is more than just rusty!!

Thanks for taking an interest in my 'Latin Problem'  would love to know more, but I must confess I am totally out of my depth with this.  I was really hoping for a complete translation, but from the bits and pieces that kind Rootschatters have done for me, it sounds very very heavy stuff, understandably I am not sure whether anyone would really want to take it on.  However, I would be more than grateful if your friend would be willing to contribute towards a little more information for me, so please please can I ask you to put on your nicest smile and do a little pleading on my behalf.  Many many thanks.

Have you had enough translated now or do you need more? A friend of mine is a Latin scholar and may do another page or so if I ask nicely.

Hi Rod,

Many thanks for your contribution towards helping me solve my 'Latin Problem' relating to one of our ancestors.

Reading your posting it rekindles very bad memories of maths lessons for me at school too, and almost sends me into a state of panic!! 

However, many thanks to you and of course to all the other Rootschatters, together we are slowly making progress and it never ceases to amaze me how people will go that extra mile to help.

Two of the most likey places you will get this translated is from a Catholic priest who is familiar with latin, or any of the catholiv colleges.


Either that try the nearest University that offer latin as a subject.
