Curley, have you had a look at Griffiths Valuation (1848-1864) for your Samuel’s Father James:
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xmlThere is a James Crawford who passed away on 27 July 1870, age 78, at Craigmore, Aghadowey, County Londonderry, Ireland. James was a widower at the time of his passing.
https://www.familysearch.org/Curley, do you know exactly where your Samuel was born or his Mother’s name, because as you can see there are a number of possibilities for his Father James.
Cheers,
Janet.
