DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INTEREST IN WILLIAM SPEKE WHO LIVED AT JORDANS, ASHILL, SOMERSET. WILLIAM BORN 1798 WIFE GEORGINA (nee HANNING)

Yes I do.

 I am researching my family connection to the Speke family. My Great Grandfather was called Reginald Speke Barnes (1878-1924) and my Grt Grt Grt Grt Grandfather Samuel Barnes (1784-?) was married to Juliana Speke (1796-) I haven't yet found a satisfatory connection. But I wonder if she may be the sister of William Speke (1798-?) of Jordans. My grandmother always told my we were connected to the family of the explorer John Hanning Speke.

I would be grateful for any information you have on the family

Hello,
I have found an old post of yours on Rootschat which mentions that you are related to Reginald Speke Barnes. I am a descendent of Reginald's Grandparents, Lucy Long and William Barnes and have copies of photos of Reginald's mother, Jessie Annie Barnes (nee Long)and Samuel Barnes (1784 - 1858). Let me know if you would be interested to share information.

Hi,
I am the grandson of Reginald Speke Barnes of Stratton in North Cornwall. My mother Diana Barnes was his daughter. I have a large framed photo of my grandmother Sylvia Carnegie Barnes, nee Long. I also have a photo of my grandfather in his Army uniform, which I guess was taken sometime between 1914 - 1918.
