Some sites that may be helpful

Nova Scotia GenWeb Page
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~canns/

Historical Vital Statistics - You may find info on his parents and siblings on this site
www.novascotiagenealogy.com/

Nova Scotia Newspapers
The Bee (Pictou) 1835-1838
http://librariesns.ca/content/newspapers-digitization

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nspictou/

Also look at the Resources board for Canada as there may be more information. I would also look for books on families with the last name Cameron as that may give you more info. I do believe that I found a brother or father that died in 1866 as Janet was given as I think the mother's name. There are many Duncan Cameron's listed but if you narrow the family to a community in Pictou county you may have more luck. Also at that time Pictou County would have covered a much larger area than it does now. Also many Scot families used a naming pattern for the children so you will see the same names used over and over again by siblings. an example is the first son named for the father's father, the second son for the mother's father, the third son for the father, the fourth son for the father's oldest brother, etc. The same with daughters. The first daughter named for the father's mother, the second daughter for the mother's mother, the third daughter for the mother, etc. Hope this helps more than confuses with your search.

You can look through the cemeteries in which there are Camerons. I noted 2 Duncans on the Pictou 1817 but only heads of households listed and numbers and genders for others...
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nspictou/index.htm ( page 8 Marshdale is a couple without children)
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pictou/pict1.htm
I looked through earlier marriages in newspapers and nothing came up for the couple.

Have you perused our resource board?

1838 has a Duncan but no males over 14 in household ( so is this Duncan not in the house?) ...seems to be one under age 6 though  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nspictou/index.htm look to left frame & scroll down to find the census...You can look through the 1871 in there to see if any clues remain

Are you still looking for Duncan and Jennie/Jane?  I believe their son Daniel went to Australia - he was in Broadford near Melbourne in 1880 - a licenced victualler.  I'm helping a descendant of their daughter Jessie track her family.  Duncan and Jennie lived at 'the Forks', East River Pictou County.

Hello destrask
Yep, still looking for info on this family.
You wrote a Daniel Cameron who was a licensed victualler in Broadford in 1880.
My Donald Cameron was such a person but in Seymour at about that time.
Can l ask where you found that info about Daniel.
As for Duncan and Jennie’s children l only really have Donald as their son.
As info for this family is hard to track down.
Would love to expand this family a bit further.
Regards
Jamison
