Dorbon/Jarvis marriage
« on: Thursday 30 December 10 19:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Could anyone help me find the marriage between James Jarvis and Mary Dorbon.  I have no idea where this would have taken place but suspect it was probably in or around the London area.

Mary was born in 1807 so it would probably have been c1828/9.

Any help would be very much appreciated

I can't see anything on the London marriages.  Where was Mary born and do you have any variations for her surname?
Chowns in Buckinghamshire
Broad, Eplett & Pope in St Ervan/St Columb Major, Cornwall
Browning & Moore in Cambridge, St Andrew the Less
Emms, Mealing & Purvey in Cotswolds, Gloucestershire
Barnes, Dunt, Gray, Massingham in Norfolk
Higho in London
Matthews & Nash in Whichford, Warwickshire
Smoothy, Willsher in Coggeshall & Chelmsford, Essex

Hi

Mary was baptised in St Pancras and the family remained in this area.  I knew nothing about Mary (other than her birth) until a few days ago when I found a Will which named her and her husband.  I have not been able to find any record of her in any census.

Hi

Not sure about James on the census.  I dont know anything about him other than his name so not sure how I would identify him?  I can only assume he was born around the same time as Mary but have no idea where or whether he had a middle name etc......

Hi

Just an update - I've just had another look at the will and I think I have made a mistake.  i've just found a marriage between Mary Dorbon and James Davis and looking back at the will I am now sure this is correct (although it did look very much like Jarvis :) )

Thank you to everyone who has looked at this for me.
