Researcher Wanted Wicklow Area
« on: Tuesday 04 January 11 07:12 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know of anyone who does research in Wicklow area for reasonable price?

I am trying to find details of Patrick Brien family born around 1806 in Wicklow who married Margaret (unknown last name).

He had 5 children Bridget (born May 1836), John (July 1838), Patrick (1840), Mary (1846) and Thomas before he migrated to Australia in 1850.  4 of the 5 children of Patrick Brien and Margaret were baptized in the Parish/District of Rathdum and were Roman Catholic. The address was listed as Carrig. Thomas was listed as an infant when he migrated in 1850 with his family to Australia and I cant find records for him. In the church baptism records for the other children the surname is spelt as Brien. In the ships list it is Bryan.  I have information from when they arrived in Australia onwards. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Rathdrum, Wicklow, Brien, Hoare

If anyone can recommend a researcher please do so by PM (personal message) rather than on this thread. Thanks

If you name the area of Co Wicklow in which you require the search, other Rootschatters may be able to assist, ie I'm familiar with North Wicklow.

Cheers

If you go to Griffiths Valuation at
http://www.failteromhat.com/post1845.php
then type in Brien as the surname and Wicklow as the area to be searched.  Four different Brien names appear with Carrig in their address - two at Carrig Lower, Kiltegan, one at Calary and the other at Boystown.
Do any of these areas ring bells?

Cheers

Here's a better site for Griffith's Valuation with images of printed pages and maps- searchable by name or place:

In the Genuki site, under cemeteries, it states that almost 100% are transcribed, but does not state where ::)
Can anyone help?
