Marriage Look-Up Craig and Boyd - 1865- Kirkinriola/Ballymena

Hello,

I was just wondering if someone would be willing to look-up the marriage of William John Craig and Margaret Boyd. They were married in Kirkinriola/Ballymena on  27 December 1865. I am mainly interested in the places of residence for the groom and bride. I do not know for sure, but I believe they may have been Protestant.

Hi,
   I can find a William Craig, father William, who married Margaret Boyd, father Robert, in Wellington Street Presbyterian Church, Kirkinriola Parish, Ballymena on 27 Dec 1865. You may be able to use the fathers' names in the Griffiths Valuation to get locations.

Thank you. That is the correct marriage. Does the record list the ages and occupations for the groom, bride and fathers of the couple?

   I am afraid that my sources do not give ages or occupations.

Most marriages from that date will list bride and groom as 'full age' unless under-age in which case age in years might be listed (although I've often seem just 'minor' written on certificate).
To get possible ages and occupations you'll need to order the marriage certificate or view a microfilmed copy. PRONI (closed until Spring but microfilmed church records available at Cregagh Library, Belfast) or to order at your local LDS library.

Bit of a long shot especially as your post was so long ago but I have just started to trace my ancestors and i think I might be related to William John Craig and Margaret Boyd. Did you have any luck with finding out any information?

Jess hasn’t been on-line since 2012, but if she still has the same e-mail account she should get your message. The 1865 marriage is on-line now. You can view the original certificate on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.
