Sophia wife of George J Bull

Hi I am hoping someone can help me.

On the 1871 census I have found George J (James) Bull born 1827 in Wilmington, Kent married to Sophia aged 50 born in Dartford, Kent. On the 1861 census George J is a widower living with sons William aged 12 and George aged 8. George's first wife Matilda died in 1859. I have not been able to find a marriage for George to Sophia which would have been in the 1860's. Would appreciate any help in finding the marriage of this couple or Sophia's surname.

Hi Pauline :),
                  It might be worth you investing in a Marriage cert for Sophia Fuller Bn Dartford Widow on the 1861 census.Just in case she married George.
  Marriage with no spouse shown
                   Sophia Fuller - Sept Qtr 1869 Dartford 2A 515  Cant see any other likely matches .

Hi Rog,

Thanks for your help. I did find Sophia Fuller as a possible wife for my George. The marriage I found on  Family Search for Sophia Fuller to John Corbett on the 5th September 1869 at Greenhithe, Kent was Sophia's daughter also Sophia aged 20 years. Maybe mother did not marry George. This family seem to disappear after the 1871 census so looks like I may not find anything more on this family.

I had a look at this the other day but, unfortunately, didn't get around to jotting it all down.

Sophia BULL death registration 1896 Faversham registration district age 80 I thought was a good candidate http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

If I recall correctly, I found them in a couple of later census with him as "James" and a possible where she may have been called Frances born Wimbledon Surrey (other years say born Dartford) if I had the correct ones.  I hadn't got so far as locating a certain marriage though ............. that's if there was one of course.

Thank you Casalguidi I am sure that is them on the 1891 census but I have not found them on the 1881 census. Maybe they were some who were missed. The 1896 death for Sophia looks correct also but I cannot find a death for George. I will keep looking.

Thank you so much for finding me this extra information. It is good to fill in a few more gaps.
