Netherbury/Whitchurch Canonicorum

I would so appreciate any information about Draytons in the above parishes. Especially Richard Drayton born before 1700. I am so stuck!

Have you investigated the Dorset OPC site?   http://www.opcdorset.org

Both Netherbury and Whitchurch Canonicorum have parish pages;  the OPC for Netherbury offers to look up details not yet online.

Thank you for such a prompt reply!  I've been in contact with Netherbury OPC several times -but not Whitchurch - thought they did not have one at present.

I'll keep trying, and appreciate any help.

Hi,

Just wanted to register my interest as I also have a Drayton family from Netherbury, although a bit later than yours I'm afraid. I have Richard Drayton marrying Elizabeth Pitcher in 1786. I believe one or both of them were non-conformists as a number of their children were baptised at Bower Hinton Independent Chapel. I don't know if that might help you at all looking for earlier records.
