Thank you for your reply I know there are smallmans in thomastown.  What i am looking for is the parents of William G Smallmam born Merthyr Tydfil  1897 _ died 1946, who lived in Thomastown was married to Evelyn Simmonds in Llanelly 1916.

Freebmd has the birth of William George Smallman in 1893 (Dec Q)
Merthyr T volume 11a page 658

The 1916 marriage certificate should provide Father's name and occupation, and the birth certificate will give Mother's name.
