Hi Alyson,Staffordshire BMD gives alternatives of May E Heap and May E Richardson for his bride. It usually indicates she was married before.

Gosh! ..... I had to go back 3 generations to find the connection,
so Richard and Samuel were cousins 3 times removed??!!??
May actually married Richard when he was 24 and she was 32 ..... so
toy-boys in vogue back in the early 1900's!!
Just thought I would up date.
Thanks for the lead.

Its no problem Alyson.I wouldn't worry too much about Richard and Samuel being close relatives.I've got four seperate instances of two brothers marrying two sisters in my Tree and one where a chap married his Wife's sister after she died!

Just to add to the generational story I have just been having a little
look at the daughter Doris Heap Richardson  and would you believe
she also married another Richardson of the same family, this time
he was a 1st cousin.
Richardson's must be attracted to Richardson's!!!
