« on: Sunday 23 January 11 12:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I have a Susanna Carter birth registered Mar Q 1842 Warminster. I think she entered Australia Jun 1861 as Susan Carter .
Can anyone find her for me please on the 1851/1861 census hopefully with parents & siblings?
Many thanks

There is a baptism recorded at Christ Church Warminster for Susannah Carter, daughter of Robert & Martha on 24 April 1842.

THANK YOU very much to all who replied while I was clearing drains in the middle of the night! ::)
We had the entire January rainfall for the last 24 years in 36 hours so a wee bit of cleaning up to do before I can savour all the info you have given me but a quick glance tells me that a number of connections have been made  and mysteries can now be solved as to connections!

My next task will be to sort out the Pinnells who also emigrated to Australia from Warminster and carried on  a family tradition of marying the Carters ;D

I hope you'll all be able to assist again! You're great!
First I need to wash some towels............!
Thanks again!

Hi dale new to this have a large interest in pinnels  carters Titfords i can help a lot at this end though have a mystery or two still, according to shipping records Susan carter did indeed arrive in 1861 with caroline carter and John Titford on the s.s Anglesey (were newly married) Mary anne  carter signs there wedding certificate as a witness st denys church wiltshire i have the document Lavinia carter did indeed arrive shortly later and marry one Richard Pinnell Susan carter then appears to disappear into thin air after her arrival
Lavinia become pregnant but passed away the child was born but passed away also I have visited the grave of the daughter being next to Titford graves Lavinia is in country Victoria and the daughter in the city I cannot find mary anne carters arrival i know she was a nurse never married and also known as mary jane carter and did have relatives here and lived to her 8os? and where she is located i Only just recently found John & Carolines last resting place in Sydney look forward to discussion regards
