German Pork Butcher - SCHULZE
« on: Monday 24 January 11 19:24 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am looking for information about the Schulze family who moved from Germany to England between 1881-1891. They lived over here for some years, but also some emigrated to Canada in 1914 (and later returned) and also travelled to Germany.

The key names and dates of the people I would like to know more about are:

Bruno Arthur Wilhelm Schulze born: 12th Feb 1852 in Juterboy Pro Brandenburg
Died: 29th Aug 1934 Hamburg

Marie Justine Schulze (nee Scibe) born: 17th July 1859 in Stade Prov Hannover Died 4th April 1936 Devon, England

I believe Bruno and Marie (or Justine as she was known) married in 1878- I have no records of their marriage.

They had 4 children: Emma Martha Caroline Schulze (married Henry E Smith) born 21st Nov 1879 Stade Prov Hannover. Died: 1st July 1946 England.

Arthur Wilhelm Christian Schulze Born: 7th August 1881 Stade Prov Hannover. Died 1947 Devon England.

Marie Wilhelmine Johanne Schulze (marred W Shaw) born: 18th Dec 1889 England. Died: ?

Frederick (Fredrich) Emil Charles Schulze born: 16th Dec 1894 England. Died: 1958 England.

I am interested in all the family, but Emma was my great grandmother so any information on her would be interesting.

We know the family had a sausage skin making business in England- including 4 businesses and we believe there was property and businesses in Germany, we know of one house in Hamburg, but no more.  If anyone can find records of a business I would be very greatful to hear about it.

Also we have records of the family travelling abroad a lot (particularly Bruno and his sone Fred- travelling separatly) but we have no record of their trips to and from Germany- any information about when and where they travelled to in Germany would be of great use.

Finally when Bruno died in 1934 he was in  Hamburg, we would like to know any inforamtion about a burial or even a will. His wife Justine died in Devon, however it does not appear that she was buired here, we assume she was buried in Germany with Bruno- any record of this would be of great use.

Please feel free to popint me in the right direction for searching for German records.

Thank you.

Hi sezuk

The name is Jüteborg, Brandenburg

Bruno Arthur Wilhelm Schulze was living with his wife Justine and children in Birmingham, St. Jude, in 1901 C.

He died at Jordanstrasse 39, Hamburg 10, Germany 29th August 1934, Probate to Marie Justine Schulze widow and Arthur Wilhelm Christian Schulze, factory manager. His address in England was 1 Croft Road Holsworthy, Devon.

Marie Justine died 4th April 1936 at Pyworthy, Holsworthy - Probate to Frederich Charles Emil Schulze. She must be on Free BMD but have not yet looked.

According to Kelly's Directories, he was living in Birmingham (60 Pershore Street) until 1913.

Found an entry for him in 1914 in Pyworthy, Holsworthy (Sausage Skin Manufacturer).

I have been in touch with forscher and we are sharing information about the Schulze family- I was very pleased to hear from a relative in Germany- we knew very little about the family out there. Hopefully there is more to discover!
