Hello,
I am looking for any information on my ancestor Paul Rubens who lived in Blessington in the first half of the 19th century. I've also seen the surname written as Rubins or Ruben.
Paul married Elizabeth Giles in St. Nicholas COI church Galway on 31st January 1800.
Paul's occupation was listed as Wicklow Militia.
Paul and Elizabeth had 4 daughters in Blessington (COI):
Jane, b. 1801 who later married Laurence Maher
Mary, b. 1803 who married John Chambers
Frances, b. 1808 who married Isaac Whittle
Catherine, b. 1814 who married John Kennedy
I understand that Paul worked in the livery/stables business around Blessington and have heard mention of a connection to Bianconi coach services.
Thank you,
Shane
