Bridget Ryan
« on: Tuesday 25 January 11 01:18 GMT (UK) »
I know this is a long shot with this name but I am looking for a birth or baptism of Bridget Ryan born around 1826 in Tipperary.  According to her marriage certificate her father was Michael Ryan, laborer.  She married in the Roman Catholic Chapel, Medway, Kent in 1845.
Very grateful for any help.

Heather

Bridget's birth is well before the start of full civil registration (1864) so you will need to check for available parish records for a baptism. A more detailed birth-place within Co. Tipperary  for Bridget would really be needed (i.e. parish or townland) to start a proper search for her, as not parishes have records going back to the 1820s.

You can see the details and numbers of parishes involved on the Irish Times website at :
Tipperary South Riding - RC Parishes
Tipperary North Riding - RC Parishes

Records for some parts of Co. Tipperary are available on the pay-website of the Irish Family History Foundation (http://www.rootsireland.ie/), but Ryan is a very common surname in Tipperary, so could be difficult to prove any possible matches without more clues..

It's worth checking any English census returns you can find Bridget (or any of her Irish family), to see if a more detailed place of birth is ever mentioned.
