Stafford Family of Kildare
« on: Tuesday 25 January 11 05:20 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking information regarding the Stafford family of County Kildare.  They seem to have had a presence in northern Kildare from the 1600s through the 1850s, and likely had relatives in northern Dublin.

Info about the following folks would be especially appreciated as it will help me progress family research:
• Elizabeth “Eliza” Stafford born circa 1823, married a Larmon/Larman circa 1845
• Richard Stafford and Mary Stafford of Dublin who birthed a child named Eliza in 1819
• James Stafford present in Kildare in 1854 per Griffiths Valuation (Prosperous/Killybegs)
• Marianne Stafford (likely Mary Anne) present in Kildare in 1854 per Griffiths Valuation (Curryhills/Killybegs)

Hey Sean, thank you for the reply.  Unfortunately, I have no idea which branch of the Stafford family I descend from, and so this just becomes another name in my research list.  There seemed to be many Staffords living in the area at the time (particularly Athy), but since my ancestors were pretty much in Prosperous I have been trying to work with the names from Griffiths under the assumption that my 3x great-grandfather came to or was born in the area and married the daughter of a neighbor.

I havent been able to find any documents that state names of my 3x great-grandmother's relatives.  Her death certificate revelas nothing along these lines, her marriage seems to have occurred in the 1840s just before church records in their parish started being kept, and the baptismal/marriage records I have ordered for her children do not state any Staffords as sponsors/witnesses.  If anyone reading this post has other suggestions on how I can locate some definitive names for these relatives, I would appreciate your sharing them.

Was William Henry's father Pierce Stafford?

If so, then this was his birth record - born 30th April 1893 at Stafford Lodge, Kilmacthomas (which is in Co Waterford).
