Framlingham, KERSEY Families
« on: Sunday 30 January 11 16:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi
am new to this stuff

am looking for a Henry Kersey C1835, in various census records his place of birth is Suffolk, or Framingham, his father from his marriage cert is also Henry a bailiff
any ideas as to where to go next would be helpful
connections with Henry Kersey in Framsden & Old Newton Suffolk have proved to be a blind alley

Hello there and welcome to Rootschat  ;)

I have checked baptisms for St Michael's parish church from 1832 to 1840 and there are no baptisms for the name Kersey at all.

In 1844 Miss Maria Kersey was living in Castle Street - she is listed in White's in the 'prominent people listing' under Fram and Mr Robert Kersey was listed as Farmer (farm bailiff?) at Great Lodge farm.

As Fram had/has many non-conformist chapels, it is likely they were members of one of these?

Kersey is not a name I have really heard of in Fram at this time (a time in Fram's history that I am very familiar with  :)

Are you sure you don't mean FRAMSDEN.

There is a Henry Kersey and family in Framsden in 1841, including a young Henry of about the right age.

HO107; Piece 1038; Book: 3; Civil Parish: Framsden;

From the Suffolk Marriage Index

Henry P. Kersey of Framsden
Ann Peck
6th July, 1825
Winston

Just seen your original post, what makes you think the Framsden Kerseys aren't the right ones?

amazed at how quickly you all respond :)

the info on baptist, non conformist of Framlingham is a avenue i will pursue ,

Henry did in fact marry a Elizabeth from Baumaris in wales.

The connection with Henry Pells kersey of Framsden turned out incorrect as his son Henry emigrated to America, married a Ann Kinney and died 1890 in Nevada,

The Henry i am looking for moved to London and died in 1904 Bexley kent
