Mary Richardson died York 1911-14
« on: Thursday 03 February 11 16:42 GMT (UK) »
I believe that my great-grandmother died in York after being pushed down the stairs by her husband George Richardson. If this was the case, where would he have stood trial? Would the case have been reported in the press? And would there be records of the trial?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you

Robin Richardson

Forget what you believe and get some facts.  Get the death certificate.  That will state cause of death and whether or not there was an inquest.  Once you've got an exact date of death it will be easier to ask the relevant library to look for newspaper reports.

If George was tried of course it would be reported in the press and there would be records.  But let's establish first whether it was an accident.
Chowns in Buckinghamshire
Broad, Eplett & Pope in St Ervan/St Columb Major, Cornwall
Browning & Moore in Cambridge, St Andrew the Less

Barnes, Dunt, Gray, Massingham in Norfolk
Higho in London
Matthews & Nash in Whichford, Warwickshire
Smoothy, Willsher in Coggeshall & Chelmsford, Essex
