Hi
Does anyone know anything about the Porter family based around Orsett and Hornchurch? They were a farming family. My ancester was George and he married Mary Ann Letten, b.1869, towards the end of the 1800's ( quite an unusual name I believe)
 
I know Essex is a big place, but there must be some descendants still living there  as they both came from large families.

thanks for the reply. I did find the marriage on the free bmd some time ago, and have been trying to trace connections using the Genes Reunited site, but so far without anything definite.
I just thought that with both coming from large families there would be someone out there looking!
