The double d  is common in Welsh place names,  could there be a welsh  connection?

Looks to me as if whoever started filling in the form goofed, and started to write her name on the line where it says "Bride's Residence" ... could we get some clues from that, if we could see the whole line?

Can't make out whether the first letter's supposed to be a "D" or an "S" ... Seddymn, maybe?  Seddynn?

Sorry, but I don't buy that it's "D Eddyman" - why write out the other three names but not the "D"?  there's also no "a" between the last two letters of the name.

Roecoyle, can you post a bit more of the writing if possible, to get more of an idea of the letters?  There is some idiosyncratic handwriting going on here!  ;D

Cheers
Prue

If you look at the comprehensive list of surnames on this site, there is  a surname DIDDYHM   listed.

Is it possible that the name  is from another country than UK.

Another thing I remember reading, is that when Poles or russians  arrived at Ellice Island  with unpronounceable  Russian names,   the clerks  would write down how it sounded, just for speed and convenience.
