Platcock, Fortrose- local history

I was wondering if anyone had anyone knows any history of platcock in Fortrose.
My MacRae ancestors who were shoemakers lived in that area around1800-1872.
When I visited there in the summer it seemed to mostly be new building.
Can anyone direct me to local history of the area around that time ?
