Can anyone help me solve the mystery of the children of Richard Gray (born 1801 Wheatley) and his wife Elizabeth (unknown) who lived Wheatley/Waterstock/Waterperry area of Headington District. He was a gardener. Children Anne, Emma (c1820), George (1832) Frederick (1833) Jane (1837) and Elizabeth (c1838). Mother died 20/12/1838 at Waterperry. 1841 census shows another child living with the family at Waterperry named Elizabeth Gray 6 months old shown as not born Oxon, by 1851 census she is a 9 yo pauper at the Headington Workhouse birth place unknown. She cannot be Elizabeth snr.'s child, wondered if she might be illegitimate child of either Emma or Anne. Anne is not living with the family in 1841, servant aged 15 to Forest family at Gravel Hill, Henley on Thames. She goes on to marry George Beazley 1845 at Ickford, Bucks. Cannot find any christening records for any of the children, ages come from census records. Love to know where Elizabeth (1841) fits into the family and how she came to be abandoned. Emma married a James Wharton 1854 Thame, Bucks. Also christening records for Anne and/or any of the others. Richard snr. went on to marry Elizabeth Wheeler of Enstone 1842 who is shown as around 20 years older than him. 3rd marriage Rebeccah Parker of Marsh Gibbon, Bucks who married as Rebecka Reeves (widow Thomas) at Waterperry 28/10/1854. Interesting family this lot as Anne arrived in Victoria Aus as Angelina Beazley.
Thanks for any info on the Grays, Sue
