Thomas POTTER

I am looking for possible leads on a Thomas Potter born about 1824, his place of birth is unknown. Thomas married Mary Fleming in Passage, Co.Cork on 30 Nov 1844. Interestingly Thomas' surname was recorded as Patterson on the parish register when he married, but all of his children were recorded as Potter on the same parish register.

Their son Simon Potter my 2nd great grandfather was born in Passage in 1854 and died Strand Road, Derry in 1904. A family member said they believed the Potter's originally came from the North of Ireland but so far been I haven't been able to verify this.  It's plausible that Simon's death in Derry could  well mean the family did have connections to the North of Ireland.

Other children born to Thomas and Mary were  Michael -1851, Henry -1857, Mary Joseph -1860, Ellen Frances -1864, Thomas -1867 and Ann -1870.

Mary Joseph, Ellen Frances & Thomas all emigrated to Rhode Island, USA in the late 19th Century

Would love to hear from anybody that might be able to help with this one - ken
