identify previous army service - please
« on: Sunday 13 February 11 09:24 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have the attestation papers (WW1) for Arthur Cousins Hexter (B1880) to join the Canadian Expeditionary force.  Under previous service I transcribe it as "Drum Guard Kimberley, S[outh] A[frica]".  Have I got that right?

I believe this would be the 2nd Boer war 1899-1900?

Any help to clarify / correct would be appreciated.

Thanks
