BAPTISMS/Marriage in St Giles/Gt Haseley/Gt Milton

I am looking for any information on the following:

T birth of a William Immes [Possibly Saunders] who was the illegitimate son of John Saunders and Mary Immes. They married in 1798 St Giles, Oxford, although John was from Gt Milton, where they shortly returned. I do not know where William was born, or what surname he was registered under...can anyone shed some light?

I am also looking for the marriage of John Saunders to his first wife Phillis. We believe her surname was either Wells or Greenwood. All of their children were born in Gt/Lt Milton, but she was possibly from the surrounding area of Gt haseley, etc. They had their first child in 1776, so I expect they would have married shortly before then.

I am also looking for the birth of Phillis, again possibly Wells or Greenwood in the Great/Little Milton or surrounding areas, around the time of 1740-1758?

Finally, the birth of Mary Immes, c1764, possibly in Oxford, or again surrounding area.

Any information would be of great help.

Gt.Milton Baptism - 7 Jun 1742. Phillis Wells.  daughter of Paul & Phillis Wells.

Gt.Milton Baptism - 3Oct 1787. William Saunders. son of Richard (no mother mentioned).

Cannot find John Saunders first marriage in the OxFHS marriage index.

The nearest marriage I can find is a Priscilla Wells to John Paine.  29 Dec 1774.  Gt.Milton.

Thanks for having a look for me. I don't think the baptism for William or the marriage is relevant to me, but the baptism for Phillis Wells is definitely a contender. Do you have any details of any possible siblings or even a marriage for the Paul Wells and Phillis?

I didn't think the baptism or marriage would be of interest, but thought they would help eliminations in future.

Cannot find the marriage for Paul & Phillis either on OxFHS marriage index.

The only clues I could find are these marriages for Immes (and variations).

THAME - Thomas Imms to Mary Johnson - 27 Dec 1746

KIDLINGTON - Charles Immes(of Hampton Poyle) to Jane Payne - 30 Dec 1742

KIDLINGTON - Edward Imbes to Elizabeth Soden - 5 Jul 1733

One last question I have, do you have any of the marriages for these Wells children? The Wells family definitely tie in with mine, although at which point I do not know. I know we also have connections to the Greenwood family, so any marriages you can find relating to Saunders/Greenwood would  be great.

Paul Wells(of Lt.Milton) to Ann Whitmill.  3 May 1762. at Cuddesdon.

Sarah Wells to Thomas Greenwood(of Easington). 19 Oct. 1767.  at Gt.Milton. (Witnesses- William Skyner & Jas.(James ?) Wells).

John Wells to Elizabeth Briaris.(maybe Briars) 21 Feb 1771. at Gt.Milton. (Witnesses-James Treacher & Richard Sanders(could be a variation of Saunders.?? ).

2 'possibles' for James Wells.¬

to Mary Hartley. 12 July 1778.  at Sandford St.Martin.
to Sarah Shirley. 17 Jan 1798. at Middleton Stoney. (both show as being widowed).


Nothing to tie down Mary with any reasonable certainty.
