Seeking help to find birth or arrival information about the following:

Phillip Simmons
Honorah Sullivan

They were married at Houghton, New South Wales, Australia on14 Jan 1840.

I have a transcript of the marriage certificate which states married with the consent of parents. This implies one or both were under 21 at the time, and that the parents were available to give consent.

I have five children
Sarah a Simmons bn 1841
Caroline Simmons bn 1842
Mary Simmons bn 1846
Margaret Simmons bn 1848
John Simmons bn 1850
All borh in or around the Hunter Valley of NSW

The only information I can gather about Phillip is he was an agent for the The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser in the Hanging Rock and Upper Peel area.

BUT!!! Where did Phillip and Honorah come from!!!!

I can find no information on that at all.

There is this death, no parent names given on the index.

Aged 56,
Died: Hanging Rock, Tamworth district, New South Wales

This puts his birthdate as abt 1805.

Austcemindex shows a memorial for an Honor SIMMONDS who died on the goldfields near Hanging Rock in 22 July,1854 aged 31 years (thus born abt !823) which looks a possible.  I can't see this death on the NSW index.

NLA newspapers have some mentions of him as Agent for The Mercury - as you have already found.  He is also mentioned in The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser, Saturday 21 October 1854 as a person who gave an alarm about a fire.

Not that any of this helps find him before his marriage.
