Jones, Castletownbere

Right.. this is a loooong shot!

My family history on my fathers side always had talk of Welsh connections and, until I started researching the family tree, we never knew my fathers g-great grandmother, Fannie, was a Jones.  She was born in the Ardgroom region of Ireland.  Her father, Thomas Jones, was born in Castletownbere, Ireland, and was a farmer.  His father, I believe, was a William Jones of the Royal Artillery and was born also in Castletownbere.  He married a Margaret Murrough on 29 Sept 1807 and William certainly was Protestant.

So far I have not quite landed on a Welsh connection and it may be a myth atached to the surname Jones but if anyone has any matching info to flesh these links out or know of anything more I would be more than happy to know.

Many thanks!   :)
