Fowkes Family Portugal

Hi
Looking for some Advice if Possible I am Researching the Fowkes family tree and have the earliest 1841 census also 51 61 and 71 for a

William Fowkes Born abt 1808 on census states birth place Portugal (British Subject )
He Married a Ann Barrett /Bannett in 1827 Northampton Northamptonshire

Would appreicate any advice or web links to help me trace his arrival to England or how to find a birth infact anythink about this gentleman

Any help would be much appreciated

You may already have looked in https://www.familysearch.org/

There are 4 Fowkes baptisms listed there in Oporto circa 1750, children of Joseph and Anne Fowkes, registered at the British Factory Chaplaincy in Lisbon.

It seems very likely that there is a connection.

Thank you no I haven't Looked on family search but will take a look just confused me when came across him as doesn't seem a very Portugease  Surname , I am very much a ameuter when I comes to research out of the Uk

There's also a Laurence Folkes in those Portugal baptism records.

I've seen references to a later Laurence/Lawrence Fowke(s) being a British Consul or vice-Consul in Portugal in the mid-nineteenth century  - in Aveiro I think.
