Family Tree programs - Now COMPLETE
« on: Monday 21 February 11 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Does anyone know of a family tree program that can be downloaded for free?

Someone has asked me if I know of any they could use for a basic tree, nothing fancy, but I don't know of any.

I use Family Tree Maker and am happy with that and subscribe to two main players in the genealogy field but it all costs.

I don't think they want anything too involved as it is only to achieve a basic layout.

Thanks in advance (I hope).

Elizabeth

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I couldn't see a free download.  Perhaps I need new glasses.

I have found a site, My Heritage,  which came up in French for me but I am sure it would be in English in UK, which might satisfy his needs.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi Carol and Pat,

Thank you both for your help in this.  I shall pass the information across to  my friend and hopefully, he will be able to fulfil  his requirements with one or the other of the suggestions.
