Hi

For anyone who might be helping, this is the previous thread:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,514472.0.html

I did  have a quick check on marriages then but didn't see any. Not all marriages are recorded before 1855.

You will not find any such marriage. Records (Old Parochial Registers) did not begin in that parish until 1831 and even then they were not complete.

You wont find a marriage but it might be worth listing their children in date order. This will give you a rough idea of when they married.

If you are wanting to go further back, then the names might help identify their parents names. The Scots often used a traditional naming convention -

1st son - after husband's father
2nd son - after wife's father
3rd son after husband

1st daughter - after wife's mother
2nd daughter - after husband's father
3rd daughter - after wife

other sons and daughters - after siblings
