CATLIN Transportation
« on: Tuesday 01 March 11 12:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi all
In 1820 at the Hertford Lent Assizes, a case involving  William Catlin was heard. It was reported in the County Chronicle 07 March 1820. Then on the 30 May 1820, again in the County Chronicle, a William Catlin is shown on the list of transported prisioners.

Then on 01 Nov 1831 there is a publication of the County Press, stating a George Catlin has been removed from County Gaol for transportation.

Would anyone be able to let me know any of the details surrounding these events please.
Thanks .. Lyn

Hi
I'm not sure what you want to know exactly, but it looks like William was transported to Tasmania on the Juliana which left England on 3rd September 1820.

Sorry but I can't see where George went.

Hi Lyn :)

Both men made it out to NSW - William on the "Juliana" and George on the "England".  If you wanted to find out more about them once they arrived here, you could post on the Australia board  :)

Cheers
Prue
