Birth about 1874. Maria Pointon Butterworth

Can anyone help me with the birth details of Maria in USA.

Her parents were Charles Henry Butterworth born abt 1849 Mottram Cheshire and her mother was Maria Pointon born Hyde Cheshire about 1849.

Father's occupation in 1871 is an Iron Moulder.

They are back living in Burnley Lancashire by 1881, although father has died by this time in England.

That is interesting Priscilla.

1881 census has her living with grandparents and her brother is with her as well.
Class: RG11; Piece: 3468; Folio: 63; Page: 12;

On the 1891 and 1901 census after she married are saying USA, but your record from IGI says different. I wonder if I have picked up the wrong  family. I  first discovered her when she married into the Stubbleday family, which is my paternal line.

I wonder if some kind person could have a look for me please at the immigration lists for this family to check if I have correct parents to Maria Pointon Butterworth.

It is worth noting that on 1881 census her place of birth is not very distinguishable but her brothers says Hyde Cheshire. Maria's doesn't  look anything like it. I am thinking it looks more like S/Fransisco! It is quite a long word.

Thanks Priscilla, I have that info re marriage. It is her place of birth I am trying to establish.

The record on IGI is for Christening only not birth, so may be she was born in USA and then Christened when they returned to UK

Yes that is his mother's death, Thank you for that.

I have now discovered that they were living in Auckland New Zealand in 1910.

Her husband, William Blanchard Stubley died and was buried on 4 Mar 1916, Auckland, New Zealand, Waitakere Cemetery (Nonconformist Division C, Row 9, Plot 12)

Maria returned home about 1920 and died 1958 in Nelson, Lancashire.

I am wondering if the Passenger Lists would show if they travelled from USA to Aus/NZ and about what time. And also passenger lists for Maria's return to England.

If anyone can help with the Passenger List part of this search I would be very grateful.

Apologies for butting in on this thread.   

Just went to post info re: Maria Pointon and William Blanchard STUBLEY, only to find your New Zealand thread had disappeared.   
Subsequently discovered you'd sent me a PM (unfortunately I no longer have access to PM facility in this forum, so unable to either read this or to reply, sorry.)
