Now Closed - 1st Battalion the Scots Guards
« on: Wednesday 02 March 11 02:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi friends,

my wife's grandfather when his wife died was in the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, she died in 1917,so he never saw her before she died, he would be aged 30 at the time.

Does anyone know anything about this Battalion please.

Best regards.

Archie.

Thank you both very much for your help, it's the writing on these documents, yes it is the 1st Battalion, the way it is written it looks like a zero at the end of the one.

Thanks again.

regards.

Archie.

Archie
It will cost approx £30 to get his full service record from the SG Archives at Birdcage Walk in London.Ive got a couple of Guardsmans records one is excellent with lots in it the other is pretty blank apart from a few pages.

Link above will give basic outline of what they were involved in.
