Mary Ann Charleston/Charlston

Mary Ann Charleston married John Robert Marsden at Christchurch with St Matthew in Blackburn, 1903.
No idea where she came from, but LancsBMD has a birth 1866 in Oldham and other records found so far indicate a possible birth either Liverpool or Wigan areas.
I think 1866 may be too early (John, sometimes known as JacK, was born 1874)
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Gibel
Don't have any details I'm afraid. The marriage info is from LancsBMD.
Only just come across this person as I switched interest to my grandfather's brothers.
This marriage was the only one which seemed possible for gt uncle Jack.
Living in the hope that someone (perhaps cousins) can recognise them.
Can't even narrow down a death yet.
The number of Mary Ann Marsdens in Blackburn

John Robert Marsden born in Blackburn, son of Richard Marsden and Margaret Ann, nee Riley.
Have him in 1881 but not in 1891 so don't know occupation. Cotton or canals quite likely in that area.
Mother died in 1889 and younger children still with father in 1891.
1901, my grandfather in South Africa, perhaps John/jack signed up as well
My mother had a cousin Jack who is presumed to be son of John R Marsden.
Trouble with starting FH after parents have gone is that we have no definate info.
Hope my unknown cousins are also on the search, perhaps we'll connect one day.

If you find them 1911 it will tell you how long they had been married and how many children they had up to then and how many still alive 1911.

I can see his dad in 1891 without the son you are talking about ,his dad remarries in 1892,
I assume you already have this census return ,if not I will post it,
for every one else it is

Hi Migky and Radcliff
Tried 1911 but without success so far Migky, but only looked this morning when I should have been working
Thanks Radcliff, I have all the censuses for gt gfather Richard (he married a third time too, aged 60), and some of the other children.
It's John Robert I decided to look up. He was mum's uncle Jack and I could very wellbe wrong, but so far I am leaning to him marrying Mary Ann. Their son (or someone elses if I'm on the wrong track) would have been John Richard Marsden, mum's cousin Jack who is on her wedding photo. Just wish I could connect with someone from that side of the family

Susan I think you are going to have to buy a marriage certificate ,if you get no joy from here,it will be helpfull,I cant see why he couldn't have married an older woman ,it happens, and then with her fathers name ,you will be of again,
