« on: Sunday 06 March 11 01:57 GMT (UK) »
Hello I hope I have the right Riding. I have a Thomas Bainbridge who was born or bp in Eppleby Yorkshire I estimate abt. 1775'. He married an Ann Stephenson in 1796 in Durham. Would it be possble to see if he is there and who his parents were. I would be very grateful.

familysearch.org has a Thomas Bainbridge baptised 15th Aug 1776 at Bowes near Barnard Castle, not that far from Eppleby. Parents shown as Thomas Bainbridge and Mary.

Possibly him?

Have a look at www.genuki.org.uk and see which parishes are near to Eppleby.  A major problem is that they won't all be on the IGI so you need to check all of them!
Does the marriage entry hold any clues such as witnesses?

In reply to your query Andrea, Colin gave the information here on the Durham board.

Have to say the 1776 Christening at Bowes looks a good possibility !! :)
